Some of the inspirations behind our big day, “by the couple”.

We really wanted to make sure the wedding reflected who we were as a couple. We kept a few "normal wedding traditions", but also brought unique touches that showed "us" (ex: anna doesn't like cake, but loves cookies, so we had a cookie cake wedding cake instead of the traditional bridal cake) Our families were both very supportive in our decisions which really meant a lot.  Looking back on this now after the wedding, we are so happy that we decided to make the wedding more special and about us than a traditional wedding is. I do feel like more people are starting to do this and it makes me so happy!

Anna loves sparkles and pink so my initial thought on the kind of dress I wanted was blush with some sparkles. I tried on a blush dress and quickly realized I loved the traditional and classic ivory wedding dress, so I found one with sparkles in the skirt and bodice to incorporate my love for sparkles.

Tell us about your ring.

- Matt went with his mom to pick it out. I didn't want to pick it out because I wanted it to be completely from him and I knew I would like whatever he picked for me. He has great taste, as so does his mom, so I wasn't worried a bit! I also love surprises! :)

How would you describe the way your wedding your day went?

Honestly, more perfect that we could have ever planned it to be. We had a few things that didn't go as "planned" (the location of the ceremony for one) but truly feel these things happened for a reason and that reason was to make our wedding day even better. Definitely the best day of our lives and will be hard to top!

How did it feel seeing each other the for first time and what was the most special moment of the wedding for you?

Matt: Nervously excited to see Anna, but turning around to see her reinforced it to be the best decision I ever made. Most special moment was the first dance because after that moment we were able to fully enjoy ourselves and enjoy being in the presence of so many family and friends who came to celebrate US!!

Anna: Seeing Matt was such a happy and comforting moment for me. He has always made me feel safe and calm, so having our first look would also be my special moment of the wedding because I knew the rest of the day I was relaxed and happy and able to soak up every moment of the wedding with him by my side.

If you could freeze one moment from your wedding day to watch back over and over, which moment would it be?

Anna: So many people gave us the advice of taking every chance you can get to step back and look around at all the people who came to celebrate with us and who love us. I will always appreciate that advice because I was able to do that a few times, and those are the moments I would freeze-watching everyone we love and care about being so happy, dancing, and celebrating us.

Matt: After taking pictures in Piedmont Park and walking back through the park to the reception, it was so fun and meaningful that all of these people who had no idea who we were and we did not know them were congratulating us and happy for us.
