Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

We we're going for a mark moody fall theme in the overall color and vibe of the day. We focused predominantly on dark green and navy tones with a splash of rust and gold. We did not incorporate any religious themes or traditions into our day.

Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

A Divine Event and Flint Hill handled a majority of the decor. We focused on using greenery throughout the space and trying to use soft lit lights and candles to brighten the area while maintaining the romantic setting.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

All of our design elements contained florals and I would say that was the majority of our overall design. Flint Hill has a natural beauty and rustic charm so we did not want to detract from it by incorporating too many design elements.

Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

We personalized the wedding by adding a late night fry bar and adding touches of our personality throughout the space. We were sure to bring in old photos of us growing up and throughout our relationship. Additionally, we had a sign at the bar that say 'we waited 1,716 days for this moment, party accordingly'. We hand picked all of the pre-ceremony music and also wrote our own vows.

Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

I fell in love with the designer Hayley Paige so I had to have one of her dresses. I always wanted a dress that wasn't completely white so I went with a soft blue dress from her. I also can always be found wearing chacos so I wore chacos under my ballgown during the ceremony and reception. My overall aesthetic was to go for boho romantic. I wanted my look to be natural and representative of who I am as a person rather than full glam.

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

A: Andrew and I met on Bumble in 2015. We matched at a popular music festival in Atlanta called 'Music Midtown'. What is a little unusual is that I was currently on a date (which obviously wasn't going well) when I matched with him. I specifically remember sitting on a hill listening to the band 'Catfish & The Bottleman' when I saw his profile come up and thought, this boy is cute why not. Andrew proposed in August 2018. One of our favorite things to do on Sundays is make breakfast and hang out on our couch to start our day. He had made me my favorite pancakes that day and after I was finished eating, he popped the question. Additionally, he had planned a surprise engagement party later that day and had invited everyone that was special to us.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

We had a choreographed first dance and was so excited to show off all our hard work. It was a total crowd pleaser!

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?

As far as planning - do not wait until the last moment to do everything. The last week before the wedding you will not be able to make welcome bags, write your vows, coordinate bridesmaids, etc. I would suggest having a task list in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding so that the last week can just be devoted to last minute emergencies. You'd be surprised what comes up!
